My Ever Lasting Dream

I still have the dream: I wake up early in the early morning in my Home in Terezin Concentration Camp. There were about 20 double bank-beds in a huge barracks room. I see in the shadow a little group of children just getting ready to leave. They are trying not to wake up the other children.

“Hey Kids, kids; where are you going to? Wait for me, wait for me...
We are leaving on a transport to the East. We are leaving to the Place of no Return. You will never see us again. You stay back and remember us. And you tell all people.
Yes I will, I will, I promise.

I hope you will find my book to be educational and enjoyable. The book is not only about Holocaust, Terezin and the vanishing children. The story goes beyond the end of WWII.
This 6th Edition includes My Presentation, a shortened story, a dokument. The Kindle Book Reader will read loud to you, to the class or any other audience. This is in case I cannot present it to you myself. I am more than 75 years old now…
The book is about Tommy, an innocent little boy who was locked up in prison when he was 6 years old and was kept there for three years. He was actually sentenced to death, he was supposed to be murdered; but his murderers were too busy murdering others. The murderers ran out of time and Tommy survived.

Tommy, the little boy, was actually me. I have changed. You and your audience will change as well; I hope for better. I will tell you in my writing what I remember from those terrible days some seventy years ago in the way I experienced – as a little boy. I was 3 years old when the Nazis invaded my world and I was 9 when the war ended. I was free hardly from one concentration camp, an other started soon after and it lasted much longer.

The story introduces our family and the environment we were living in. The family history goes back to the year of 1765 and to the little village Schwanenbruckel. It was located on the southern border between Germany and Czechoslovakia. It was the family get-together place for many years; it does not exist anymore.

Our family consisted of very different Jewish people, some were rich and some were not so wealthy in money, but they were certainly resorsefull in ideas. It was a close knit family, loving and hard working friendly people. They appreciated the fact that they were living in a country which was a democratic island in not so democratic Europe. This was before the Second World War. They also saw the thread of Nazi Germany to them, the Jewish population and also to their neighbors. Some of them escaped.

The story goes through my family life in Pilsen where I was borne. My father was involved in the community very actively. His dislike of the Nazis was not a secret. Then there is the escape from Pilsen to Prague and setlement in a wooded area east of Prague. We lived there for three years. Gradually, the Nazi oppression of the occupied territory population and specifically of the Jewish people became hardly bearable.

The trip to the prison, to Terezin concentration camp and the live there follows. The story does not end with Terezin liberation. You will see that there was actually never a complete liberation at all. There was a temporally lift of the cage, just to have the cage come down, always more and more forcefully. Stalin took over the murdering hatched from Hitler at Stalingrad...and we were living in “Stalin’s territory of interest”..until we escaped and made it to USA. The story ends back in a freed country.

One last note: I talk about my own experiences only when I talk at the schools. That is the ethical requirement. However; in my writing I included some of my family members experience and my friends experience also. And, am not supposed to insert any jokes into my presentations; Holocaust was a very sad story by it selves. On the other hand, what is a Jewish story without a Jewish joke? So I broke the rule.
Enjoy the reading, pls try to send me your comments:t.o.l@live.com.

Big Nate, a.k.a. middle schooler Nate Wright, is eleven years old, four-and-a-half feet tall, and the wunderkind creation of cartoonist Lincoln Peirce. Nate is also the star of six novelized books to be published by HarperCollins, the first of which debuted on the New York Times children's best-seller list. Big Nate Out Loud collects Peirce's Big Nate strips, originally published only in newspapers and online at comics.com.

For those not familiar with Big Nate, think Diary of a Wimpy Kid meets Calvin and Hobbes. Nate is a self-described genius and a sixth-grade Renaissance man equipped with only a #2 pencil and the unshakable belief that he is destined for greatness (a fortune cookie told him so). He fights a daily battle against overzealous teachers, undercooked cafeteria food, and all-around conventionality. He's the original rebel without a clue, alternately abrasive and endearing to classmates and teachers alike. Throughout Peirce's Big Nate Out Loud, Nate blazes an unforgettable trail through the sixth grade at P.S. 38, earning straight As in laughs (and numerous detentions) along the way.

Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl is among the most enduring documents of the twentieth century. Since its publication in 1947, Anne Frank's story has become familiar to millions all over the world, and remains a beloved and deeply admired testament to the indestructible nature of the human spirit.

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

The Definitive Edition

Included in this Definitive Edition are diary entries previously omitted from the original, passages which reinforce the fact that Anne was first and foremost a teenage girl, not a remote and flawless symbol. She fretted over her emerging sexuality; often found herself in disagreement with the adults around her; and veered between the carefree nature of a child and the full-fledged sorrow of an adult living under extraordinary conditions and unbearable strain. Anne emerges more triumphantly and heart-breakingly human, more vulnerable, and more vital than ever.

Anne Frank and her family hid in the back of an Amsterdam warehouse for two years in an effort to escape the horrors of Nazi occupation. Only thirteen when her family went into the Secret Annex, she reveals her daily life as the world around them succumbed to the worst horror the modern world had seen, facing hunger, the threat of discovery and death, estrangement from the outside world, and above all, the boredom, the petty misunderstandings, and the frustrations of living in such confined quarters.

A timeless story rediscovered by each new generation, The Diary of a Young Girl stands without peer, and acclaimed actress Winona Ryder brings this unforgettable young woman to life in a stunning performance for listeners of all ages to cherish.

A New Translation From The French By Marion Wiesel

Night is Elie Wiesel's masterpiece, a candid, horrific, and deeply poignant autobiographical account of his survival as a teenager in the Nazi death camps. This new translation by Marion Wiesel, Elie's wife and frequent translator, presents this seminal memoir in the language and spirit truest to the author's original intent. And in a substantive new preface, Elie reflects on the enduring importance of Night and his lifelong, passionate dedication to ensuring that the world never forgets man's capacity for inhumanity to man.

Night offers much more than a litany of the daily terrors, everyday perversions, and rampant sadism at Auschwitz and Buchenwald; it also eloquently addresses many of the philosophical as well as personal questions implicit in any serious consideration of what the Holocaust was, what it meant, and what its legacy is and will be.
